Rory Price, an infectious personality, well put Mike. We met at Lynnwood Jr. High at age 13. We rode BMX bikes everywhere. For many years we had thousands of adventures together. Not one time was Rory not ready for more or should I say creating new adventure. As we aged, I had childern,Rory would play with and enjoy them. Rory plan was to wait for the Carrie before having a family and beginning the next chapter of his life. An excelent start with Carrie and Taylor and in fact Rory lives on! Dard, Terry, Cindy, and Carrie a heart felt condolences from Gary, the Casper family and all rest of us that Rory touch so deaply.

Remembering Rory Price: It has bee an honor for me to refer to Rory Price as a friend for many years. From the time he started racing at Skagit Speedway until the present, Rory has been a great friend to me and to many people that surrounded him. Nothing will replace his spirit and his lust for life. Now is the time to reflect and offer our thoughts to his family new and old. It is my hope that Keri and Taylor can carry on the memory of this amazing man with the help of his family and friends. Rory, you will be missed dearly by all !!! James, Stacy, Jasper, and Daisy Youngquist

  • Mike Maniscalchi
Rory was a close friend of mine for 24 years. I shared so many fun times with him I couldn't begin to remember them all. Rory's life was centered around enjoying every moment he had with family and friends. In addition to being a talented race car driver, he was also a dedicated professional in business . His infectious personality left a positive mark on everyone he came in contact with. Rory had always enjoyed his life, but it became complete when he met his love of a lifetime, Kerry and started his own family. I never saw Rory as happy in all of the years I knew him as he was on his wedding day. Our love and deepest sympathy go out to Kerry, Taylor and the rest of the family. Mike and Sally Maniscalchi

Rory Price is responsible for one of the greatest folk hero stories in west coast racing. One night at Las Vegas, he was sitting in the grandstands,as a spectator and Larry Triguero pulled him out to drive a backup Western Speed Midget. Without any practice or qualifying, if I remember correctly, Price went on to win the Midget main event. They literally had to pull him out of the car he was so worn out. That's a story to tell the grandkids. Godspeed Rory Price.

  • Bob & Kathy Butcher - MROA NW Series Chaplain
Please let me convey our deepest sympaty to the family. Through the outcome and pain I feel for you all, I count it an awesome privilege to have been the Chaplain on the scene. Todd, YOU were AMAZING! The EMT's and Rescue team gave their all and are to be commended. I also want to take the terribly difficult time as this to remind us all that The Lord is never a moment too early or late in His care for our life and passing. Our life & days are numbered and cared for in His deepest love for our best. Despite our lack of understanding in these things, He is there to comfort and draw near to us if we choose, because He loves us dearly. If there is ever anything I may help you with please do not hesitate to contact me with the business cards I gave Todd and to many of the track personnel or through MRO or this Racing West website. Again, please accept our love & hugs & prayers for you during the days, weeks & months ahead.

I remember Rory as such a funny guy full of energy when we would travel with mutual friends to the Copper World race. One time I was driving a friend's midget at Spanaway and I had forgotten my own driving shoes so had to wear a pair that was 4 sizes too big. I stayed in the trailer the whole night so as not to look like a silly girl driver wearning clown shoes with the midget drivers. Rory came by to say hi and I told him I just couldn't get in the groove that night and he said "it's because you forgot your shoes!" I appreciated his heart felt encouragement and he genuinely believed that when you forget a piece of gear it can throw off your whole night. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his wife and daughter and to the rest of his family. My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with his family, he will be missed by so many.

  • Jon and Cody Taylor
RIP, "RP"! You were always a kind man to our young son when he would come and hang out in Newman's shop. Never a harsh word passed your lips to him, nor to I when I would come up to borrow tools. We enjoyed your sense of humor and confidence in your abilities. God's blessing and comfort for Kerry and Taylor, and the rest of your family and friends. You will be missed.

  • Heidi Hughley-Enfinger

Wow how could you ever put into words how much someone like Rory impacted the racing community. This guy was the All American racer. He would always be there with a smile on. He would welcome the new racers with the kind words and encouragement of a brother. What fun it was having him pass you in that Kawasaki powerd car. Just to hear that turbo all wound up you knew his grin was ear to ear. This guy was just a great friend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

  • Michael Newman

Wow, such sad news, kinda puts life into perspective. Rory & I went through school together from 7th grade on, he always made you feel like you belonged even if you wern't part of his circle of close friends. He seemed to like everybody. I followed his racing and ran into him from time to time, we'd just catch up and I'd see him next time. I wish he could see me wheel my car, I'm a rookie at Sunset Speedway in Banks OR. He'd probably chuckle and say something like, "bout time Rowan, kinda late aren't you?" I hope his little girl has his personality, she would do well with that alone. Godspeed Brother! Dave Rowan Crossroads Racing Hillsboro, OR

  • Gaylon Stewart
I remember how excited I was to watch Rory in his first midget races, we worked together at his family owned business in Lynnwood all of the employees once got together to watch him race in the Kingdome he was so proud. I could go on at length with memories of Rory because the time you got to spend with him he never failed to produce a memory what a great loss our racing community has suffered.

  • Jim & Sabrina Risher
Our hearts are broken for Carrie, their little girl, and his family. Rory left as a gift the ultimate living legacy in his daughter. We hope she grows up with Rory's charming personality, sparkling smile, & zest for life! As much as a tragedy as this is, it cannot go without being recognized that Rory left us doing what he LOVED! We were blessed to know him. Rest in peace Rory. God Bless you all.

As the news traveled over the phone lines and the internet, it cast a dark shadow of sadness and the reality that we have all lost a true friend and great racer. Rory Price lost his life in a sprint car crash while practicing at Evergreen Speedway Friday March 31st. I remember Rory as a true racer, it didn't matter if it was a winged or non wing sprint car or midget, on dirt or asphalt, Rory could get the job done. What I really remember about Rory was the fact that he had a lot of class. He was a businessman who brought his proffessionalism with him into the racing world. He was always ready with a big smile and a upbeat attitude whenever his old or new friends approached him. Many of our young drivers and teams could learn alot by watching Rory. I'm glad I knew Rory Price. Rest In Peace my friend. Steve Beitler Skagit Speedway

I'll miss Rory Price. This is a very sad day. Hard to handle. What a racer. He was one of the racers I would pay money to see. His runs at Wenatchee were legendary in open wheel cars. He was one of my favorite people in the sport. And one of the easiest people to interview. A rare blend of charisma and talent. One of those people that you looked forward to seeing at least once a year at the track. Always a quick grin of recognition and a hearty greeting. I am greatly saddened by his death. The racing community has lost a rare gem. Rest in peace. God bless your family.
