Kevin Harvick Driver Bio
Kevin Harvick hails from Bakersfield, Calif., where he thrilled fans at his home track, Mesa Marin Raceway until moving up to the NASCAR Winston West. The talented driver drove both the Winston West Series and the Spears Truck in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series in the same year. After competing for spears he was found driving the Porter Cable Truck in that same series. His raw talent did not go unnoticed and he was recruited by Richard Childress to pilot a Busch car for the 2000 season. Harvick finished 3rd in the standings, won three races and took Rookie-of-the-Year honors. He began the 2001 season in the Busch Series, but was called to also drive the No. 29 car for Richard Childress after the death of Dale Earnhardt. Although Harvick never had the chance to compete in the first race of the season in the Winston Cup he still finished with a top-ten in the standings and won the rookie-of-the-year honors.
