WHELEN/USG NASCAR CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHTThe Nascar 2007 Whelen All-American Series whines down this Saturday Night at Shasta Raceway Park on Whelen/ USG Championship Night. The NASCAR Coors Light Late Models will run Twin 30 lap features, also on the program will be the NASCAR Taylor Motors GM Performance Parts Street Stocks, NASCAR Mini Stocks Bombers and Hornets.

In The Late Model division Steven Gannon has his second NASCAR Championship in a row wrapped up as he hold a 104 point lead 356 to 252 over Bill Lancaster. Alan Pyszora is 12 points behind Lancaster at 240, The Hirschbock brothers Bobby and Randy from Klamath Falls, Oregon round out the top five with 226 and 204 points respectively.

In the Street Stock division Kyle Borden just has to start the Main Event and he will wrap up his first NASCAR Championship as he leads Brian King 835 to 757. Mike Wright, Joe Brattoli and David Braund make up the top five in points.

The only division that is not settled is the Mini Stock division, as there are four drivers who have a spot at winning the championship. Many time Mini Stock champion Al Stelt holds down a 34 point lead 764 to 730 over Paul Sabourin, Paul's brother Greg is in third position at 713, followed by Al's brother Dale who is the defending Mini Stock champion with 705 points.

Bobby Crowell is looking to win his first championship in the Bomber division as he holds a 51 point lead 543 to 492 over Rookie driver Duane Hoffman, Randy Riggins is in third place with 423, followed by Evelyn Moe with 402.

The popular Hornets will also end there season on Saturday night. Next weekend is one of the big shows of the year at Shasta Raceway Park, with the running of the annual Win River 125 for Super Late Models, Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks, all the action will start on Friday with practice from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. On Saturday all classes will qualify, and run heat races, Sunday will be all main events, highlighted by the 125 lap Win River sponsored event for Super Late Models.

This weekend the front gate will open at 5:00 pm, qualifying at 6:00 pm and the racing action to start at 7:00 pm.
