Rookie driver Sam Hornish Jr. led the Penske Racing trio to the finish line in his No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge in 20th place in the Subway Fit Fresh 500 at PIR. He was also the highest finishing rookie of the race. His teammate Ryan Newman led the field to the green flag in his No. 12 Alltel Dodge and led 37 laps of the race before his engine expired, relegating him to the 43rd finishing position. Their teammate Kurt Busch brought the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge to the checkers in 23rd. The Sprint Cup Series enjoys a rare weekend off, but the Nationwide Series and Penske driver Hornish will travel south of the border to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez for the Mexico 200 in Mexico City. In only his fifth Top Fuel career start, Antron Brown advanced to his second straight final round at the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals on Sunday. Brown didn’t collect his second win, but he continues to show consistency with his Matco Tools dragster in his debut season. KB Racing driver Jason Line picked up his first win of the 2008 season at his car owner Ken Black’s home city. Line’s win on Sunday marks the third straight win for a KB Racing-owned car at the Las Vegas events, starting with the spring race in 2007. Line is now tied with teammate Greg Anderson for the POWERade Pro Stock point lead. The POWERade Drag Racing Series has a weekend off before heading to the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga., for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals, April 24-27. The ARCA RE/MAX Series battled rainy weather prior to the start of the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 presented by Federated Auto Parts at Salem Speedway on Sunday. The green flag dropped two and a half hours after the scheduled start time, but all 200 laps were able to be completed. Ringers’ supporter Justin Allgaier picked up his second win in a row at the track. He scored the victory at the fall race at the track.
