![]() ANTELOPE, California – Bill McAnally Racing driver Austin Cameron and the No. 18 NAPA AutoCare team were prepared to claim a second victory at Phoenix International Raceway. In 2002, Cameron joined BMR piloting the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS car and took the NAPA car to Victory Lane after qualifying on the front row. Cameron is tied for fourth in the record books as a race winner at PIR and is in the company of drivers like Ken Shrader, Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough and David Gilliland. First practice had Cameron and the No. 18 NAPA AutoCare Toyota Camry third quick. He took 3/10ths off his practice time to put the No. 18 NAPA AutoCare Toyota on the third row to start the race. Cameron got off to a great start but an ill handling car caused him to make an unscheduled pit stop. While under caution at lap 19, the team from BMR led by Roger Bracken went to work replacing a shock bolt that had come loose on the car. Cameron reentered the race a lap down but was the beneficiary under NASCAR rules and was given his lap back. Now running in 25th, Cameron was on the move and by lap 56 had gained five positions. Under caution at lap 63, Cameron came in for fuel and at lap 64 he was in for right side tires. With 30 laps to go, the No. 18 NAPA AutoCare Toyota was now in the top ten. Hope was lost at lap 145 when Cameron and the driver of the No. 8 made contact turning the No. 18 NAPA AutoCare car around. Cameron took the checkered flag in 13th. He moved up to 13th in the chase for the championship. The next race of the season will be at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle Texas. The race will be televised live on HDNet beginning at 8 pm CT.
