HARDIN STABLES RUN THIN WHILE RINGING A TOP 5

KYLE, Texas – With only one race car left in the Team Hardin Racing stables, it proved to be the best so far. Eric Hardin, driver of the No. 5 Direct Shopping Network Chevrolet Monte Carlo, knew he had to keep his car clean and in one piece as he set out for the Allstate Texas Thunder 150 at Thunder Hill Raceway.

“I was very careful not to get involved with any trouble this race because this is my last car, maybe for a while,” Hardin said. “I was happy to qualify sixth so I would stay out of the traffic in the middle of the pack.”

Hardin drove fast and smooth getting up to the third place spot at one point. A push from No. 46 Jeff Barkshire put Hardin into fourth position then a restart from a caution put Hardin on the outside of row two and he couldn’t find the line he liked.

“I knew I was fast on the inside of this track so whenever I got shuffled up top, I had to fight hard to make it back to my groove down low.” said Hardin.

That groove seemed to work for Hardin as he ran away with the other leaders as if the rest of the pack didn’t even exist. Traffic and lapped cars were no match for the No. 5 Chevy as it ran away with some of the fastest lap times of the night.

Hardin and his crew were extremely pleased with fourth place especially after the nightmarish crash the previous weekend at Phoenix International Raceway where Hardin went sailing into the sky, off-roading over the No. 10 and No. 70 cars taking him out of the race.

“I’m so glad that things went well tonight for us tonight,” said Justin Holechek, Crew Chief for Hardin. “This is our last car of four and with budgets as tight as they are right now, it really puts pressure on everyone to keep it together for our next race.”

Team Hardin Racing is still actively seeking sponsors to market with them and participate through the rest of this season. For sponsorship opportunities please contact Ryan Wood, Director of Marketing for Team Hardin Racing at 714-496-4727.

The series will head to Iowa Speedway to compete with the Camping World Series East on May 18th. Check www.hdnet.com for your local listings.
