IT'S PARTY TIME AT THE HAVASU 95 SPEEDWAY

The hard working staff of the Havasu 95 Speedway have been putting in serious hours preparing for the start of their upcoming 2008-2009 winter racing series at the ASA sanctioned quarter mile paved oval located in beautiful Lake Havasu City-Arizona. But before they drop the green flag on the first race of the season, they're going to take a well deserved night off to celebrate the racing season they completed last May.

The Havasu 95 Speedway's 2007-2008 championship banquet will be held Friday, September 12th, beginning at 6 pm in the Aquatic Community Center,Rods & Relics Hall, located at 100 Park Avenue. Tickets are $20 per person and includes dinner and dessert as well as beer, wine, coffee and tea. Mixed drinks will be available at cost. The featured portion of the evening will be the awarding of trophies to the speedway's division champions. Those special awards will be presented to: Rick Layman-ASA Street Stocks,Bobby Keirns-JJ&B Late Model Series, Chris Gerchman-Modifieds,Dave Buntmeyer-Factory Stocks,Connor Kassik-Legends and Tyler Fabozzi-Bandoleros. It's also a special evening to salute the individuals that has made the Havasu 95 Speedway such a first class motor sports operation. That effort has been led by co-promoters Dennis Rudin and Bill Rozhon along with special events coordinator Eden Rudin. They will be the first to tell you about the small army of outstanding people whose special contributions led to the success of the 2007-2008 winter season.

The following night, September 13th, the speedway lights will be turned on for an open test night from 6 to 9 pm. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers to shake off the rust from the months of inactivity by reacquainting themselves with the intricate challenges that comes from racing on the the most scenic quarter mile oval in the southwest. It's also an excellent opportunity to shake down freshly rebuilt engines and perhaps even work out the bugs in newly constructed race cars. Here's some more good news: the open test night is free to spectators.

The following weekend the speedway's operation will hit high gear preparing for opening night of the new season. Opening weekend begins on Friday, September 19th, with another test and tune session, from to 9 pm, which is also free to spectators. The September 20th opening night will get underway at a special 7 pm start time and will feature a great mix of open wheel and stock car action. The SuperClean Modified Series will be in town for round seven of their outstanding 2008 racing season. 22 open wheel modifieds will treat the fans to a 75 lap main event. Also visiting Lake Havasu City that night will be the Ford Focus Midget Series who always puts on a great show. The stock car action will be represented by the speedway's ASA Street Stock and Factory Stock divisions.
