EVERGREEN SPEEDWAY 2007 SCHEDULE (TENTATIVE)Date: 01/23/2007
The season begins Saturday, March 31st, with the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Speedway Chevrolet Super Stocks in a 125-lap opener on the big 5/8's Oval. The 125-lap points event is a $10,000 purse, $2000.00 to win extravaganza. It will be accompanied by the fast as lightning winged sprints of the N.S.R.A. in the Doug James Memorial.
The second tier Les Schwab Tires NASCAR Whelen All American Series Bombers, and third tier NASCAR Whelen All American Series Mini Stocks are back to battle on the famed 3/8's mile track this season. There is one exception for the Bombers, as they will compete for points on the 5/8's track, for the first time ever, during the Washington 500.
Figure Eight racing is taking a big step forward as the FEAR club combines it's efforts and takes over the Stinger Eight program. This should bode well for car count and lots of action at the "X" this season. The exciting 60 Minutes of Fear is scheduled for Saturday May 19th and the legendary Figure Eight Nationals during FAIR on Saturday August 25th. Stingers will be featured on Extreme Night in the Stinger Eight World Championship race.
The Speedway Chevrolet Super Stocks will have three added purse events in addition to the opener in 2007. The Washington 500 is set for Saturday August 4th. The biggest NASCAR racing event of the entire year in the Pacific Northwest will build on last season's inaugural success with side-by-side action all on the big 5/8's. The NASCAR Grand National West Series will race 300 laps this year with pit stops and race strategy more of a factor than ever. It will unfold right in front of the grand stands as fans watch three NASCAR divisions, 500 laps, all in one day! The Speedway Chevrolet Super Stocks will compete for $2000.00 to win, in the $10,000 purse "Wired X Energy Drink 150 presented by Haggen" race. The Les Schwab Bombers will kick off the day in a 50-lap shootout.
The July 7th Central Welding Night 5/8's race will feature an added $3000.00 bonus to the top three positions. With Centrals added money the win will be worth $3000.00, second place will be $1500.00 and third place $1050.00. In addition the September 15th Big Track Championship race will also be a $2000.00 to win $10,000 purse race. In all, the Speedway Chevrolet Super Stocks will be competing in 2007 for well over $120,000 in purse, prize, contingency and awards. Also the First Ever NASCAR Washington State Champion will be crowned and along with track champions be honored at NASCAR's prestigious banquet in Las Vegas at seasons end.
