MINDY’S NHRA MINUTEBROWNSBURG, Indiana -- It was a Ringers winning weekend at the ProCare Rx NHRA Supernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J., on Sunday with Ringers racers and teams sweeping all four professional classes in the POWERade Drag Racing Series.

I can’t forget to mention Angelle Sampey’s awesome, record-setting ride she took on Saturday in third round qualifying! Angelle recorded a pass of 6.871 seconds at 194.21 mph, which she backed up in fourth round qualifying to make it an official national time record. However, she red lit in second round against eventual winner Craig Treble.

Treble collected his first win of the season over Joliet Pro Stock Motorcycle winner Andrew Hines. Trebles jumped off the line first and never looked back with a 6.990/191.70 mph run to Hines’ 7.003/190.48 mph run.

Ringers team racer Greg Anderson picked up his sixth win of the season after his opponent Jeg Coughlin Jr., jumped the light in Pro Stock finals on Sunday. Jeggy was .007 seconds too quick, handing Anderson another Wally on the season.

While it was a Ringers-filled Winner’s Circle, two of the four drivers on stage belonged to Don Prudhomme’s Snake Racing. Larry Dixon found himself on the POWERade stage for the second race in a row. Dixon went on a little bit of a winless drought until Joliet two weeks ago, but those days seem to be behind him as he defeated Doug Herbert in Top Fuel finals, 4.625/321.73 mph to 4.675/316.30 mph. Dixon headed into Englishtown fifth in points, but his second straight win boosted him up to the second position, only 35 points behind leader Hot Rod Fuller.

Tommy Johnson Jr. had quite a day on Sunday. He headed into the day in the No. 1 qualifying position in his Skoal Racing Funny Car, took the win light over Gary Densham in the first round, but also burst into flames that same round. The Skoal Racing team, along with help from Bob Vandergriff and Mike Ashley’s teams, thrashed to get the car ready for the second round. All the sweat and hard work paid off as TJ went onto beat Jack Beckman in second round, Jeff Arend in semifinals and finally ran down fellow Ringers supporter Tony Pedregon in the money round. TJ’s win put him into the eighth position in the Chase for the Championship.

NHRA continues onto the Inaugural Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals this weekend at the newly named Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park (formerly Norwalk Raceway) in Norwalk, Ohio.
