GANNON BREAKS THE RECORD

Redding's Steven Gannon made it into the history books last Saturday night at Shasta Raceway Park by winning his ninth main event victory in a row. By virtue of his win he broke a 25 year old record set in 1983 that was held by no other than his dad, many time Shasta Raceway Park NASCAR Champion Roger Gannon. Steven is the defending Shasta Raceway Park NASCAR Late Model Champion is well on his way to making it two championships in a row. Gannon who earlier in the evening set fast time, started the 50 lap feature in the seventh starting spot and made the winning pass on Jerry Nichols on lap 26, Gannon lead the remaining 24 laps to record the record setting victory beating Nichols to the checkered by 0.737 seconds,former SRP Late Model Gary Pyszora finished third followed by the Hirschbock brothers from Klamath Falls, Bobby and Randy.

Redding's Duane Hoffman won his first ever main event in the 20 lap Bomber feature, Hoffman who started in the fifth position chased leader Randy Riggins from Anderson down and moved into the lead on lap 15, Riggins hung on for second followed by points leader Bobby Crowell, Randy File and Evelyn Moe

Micah Parmer the two time defending Legend Champion from Anderson tallied a clean sweep on Saturday Night by setting fast time, winning his heat race, trophy dash and coming out the victor in the 20 lap Legend feature event. Redding's Zachary Kavert finished second in the feature followed by Howard Hammers, Rookie Chad Foster and John Barrett.
