Source: Dave Reed Racing
![]() COTO DE CAZA, California -- Austin Reed, driver of the #14 Ringers Gloves, Approved Memory, Dirt Bagz, Fox Shox, Trophy Kart in the Junior 2 Class is ready to roll his truck into victory circle at the CORR 2007 season finale this weekend. The events are taking place at Las Vegas International Off-Road Raceway in Primm, Nevada. The team will arrive at Primm with a new truck motor and good starting setup with the Fox Shox. The scheduled format includes qualifying and main event races on both Saturday and Sunday. Austin has made every main event he has entered and has set goals for this weekend that include a visit to victory circle and fast-time in qualifying. He knows that starting on the front row is important as it is hard to work your way through traffic with only 6-8 laps to pass. Austin and his support team agree that if they can get the truck to work as it should he has a great chance. Although Austin didn’t enter the CORR series until the fourth race of the season he already sits 17th in points. Austin shared his thoughts on the season, “We really are not running for points, we just wanted to come out and learn the tracks and get seat time in the Trophy Karts. I think we have done really well so far, we could have done better if it not for a few parts that broke. I have really gotten to know these trucks now from working on them.” Austin talked about his recent race at Texas Motor Speedway, “We had a great time, ran decent, and came home with a 10th place finish overall in the two main events. We had a better truck than the finish showed but unfortunately we broke a new chain and belt in the main events so to finish like we did was pretty good. There were changes to qualifying at Texas that made it more fun. We also raced on the same track as the big Pro 4 and Pro 2 trucks. The racing was fast and you had a lot of room to move. You could hunt around for a different line than the truck in front or behind and try to make up some time on the track.” Championship Off-Road Racing™ brings high action, four-wheel motor sports including both 2 and 4-wheel drive trucks to closed course off-road arenas. The 2007 CORR season included seven events at tracks located in Los Angeles and San Diego, California; Fort Worth/Dallas Texas; and Nevada.
Trophy Karts are smaller versions of the Trophy Trucks and have a Subaru 15 horsepower spec motor. Austin's Kart is prepared by DeJong Off-Road in Temecula, CA and is a teammate to Mitchell DeJong who is first in points for the Junior 1 Class. Austin Reed is the son of Dave Reed, former NASCAR championship car owner in the Southwest Series.
