FAIR TIME TUCSON RACEWAY PARKWith the County Fair lights and giant Ferris wheel in the background tonight's event started with Hereford's Joe Paladenic setting quick time for the second week in a row followed by 2007 Rookie of the Year, Mat Williams and point's leader Scott Rueschenberg. The NASCAR Lucas Oil Late Model Trophy Dash was next up and young Cassie Gannis Bested the Boy's to take the win!

The TRP Bomber Lites competed in there eight lap heat race to start the night's heats and Mike Schatter would lead the first three laps until Jason Davis would pass and lead until the checkers over Lyle Gallegos and Schatter. TRP Bomber heat saw Shawn Perrin lead to lap four when Bob Davis would make the pass. At the end it was Davis holding on for the win over Rick Butler and Perrin. The NASCAR Sport Compact heat was again Josh Davis over Jon Martinez and Cindy Martinez. Last starting Tom Mikla would take the lead on lap two of the NASCAR Factory Stock heat and lead to the finish over Loren "Shef" Sheffield and "Cowboy" Ken Hunt. Heat one of the NASCAR Lucas Oil Late Models was lead by Rick Butler to Tony Helm's white flag but Butler would settle for second as Mat Williams would sneak by on the inside line to snatch the win putting Butler back to second followed by Victor Pfluger.

Dave Larson would lead three laps of heat two before Paladenic would take the short way around the raceway for the lead. The heat race action was fierce, three abreast racing for all eight laps with Paladenic scoring the win over Rueschenberg and Duane Hunt Jr.

With the heat races complete it was time for the pill draw for field invert and the pill would invert ten cars putting Romano Cionni III on the pole just one week after loosing his rookie stripe.

During Intermission the Pima County Sheriffs DUI Task Force staged a purcuit and arrest on an impaired driver with TRP announcer Gary Michaels guiding the fans through the process of testing and arrest and it was great to see the TRP fans paying close attention to the details.

Due to the fact our night would end with the Saguaro Environmental Services Demolition Derby, the NASCAR Lucas Oil Late Model feature would be first up. Romano Cionni III would lead the first seven circuits until Williams would overtake with Pfluger in tow. By lap fifteen with Williams out front, Rueschenberg and Paladenic had gotten by Pfluger putting him back to fourth with Cionni fifth. On lap nineteen we would see a new leader with Rueschenberg dropping Williams to second. With "The Ruesch" out front the race to watch was Williams holding his consistent line on top and Paladenic working every other line on the TRP oval trying to get by. It was a fantastic display of driving by Paladenic but to no avail as he would pull even on many occasions but never get by. On lap 38 Cionni would spin in turn four while running a strong fifth setting up a green white checkered finish for the second week in a row. Rueschenberg would get a good start out front and Paladenic would go to the bottom in an attempt to get by second running Williams. Ruesch would win another one and Williams would hang onto second as Paladenic could not make the pass and would settle for third.

The NASCAR Factory Stock feature event was again a Mikla romp as he would take the lead on lap two and extend it lap after lap with Sheffield a distant second with Hunt in third.

The NASCAR Sport Compact was also over when it started as Josh Davis would seize the lead on lap two and never look back. Cindy Martinez would again beat husband Jon for second and third respectfully.

The TRP Bomber Lites feature was dominated by Kyle Milburg with John Cowser and Mike Schatter keeping him honest while Karl Griggs was coming on strong from the rear of the field.

The Demolition Derby had the fans on their feet while sparks were flying and cars were belching steam and twisted metal was being crated by the minute. At the end of it all the last car running was Karl Griggs over teammates Ray Tripotoni and Tommy Baird of Wolf Pack Racing.####
