MINEGAR SCORES BACK TO BACK RMCS VICTORIESSource: Minegar Racing Public Relations
![]() Dave Minegar of Boise, Idaho used a little luck and some momentum to get to victory lane in the Pepsi “125” Saturday night at Magic Valley Speedway. Minegar and his BodyBuilding.com Team celebrated their second win in CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series action this season and second triumph in a row at the third-mile paved oval in Twin Falls, ID. Minegar also extended his point lead to 167 points over John Dillon.
Minegar began the night like he has at every race this season by claiming the Sharp Powder Coating Quick Time Award. Minegar used the quick time award to propel himself to his second $400 ESI Hot Shoe Bonus in as many races. The ESI Hot Shoe Bonus is awarded to any driver that can qualify quick time and win the main event. Minegar is the only driver to have ever win this award, and it was his fourth.
“I have to thank Tom Hill and ESI for developing the Hot Shoe Bonus. It has been fun to win and something we are really proud of”, Minegar stated.
The victory did not come easy for Minegar and his team. The right rear wheel on the car had worked itself loose which caused terrible vibration for almost half of the race. A yellow flag mid-way through the event saved the team from going a lap down and allowed them to pull the car into the pits and replace the loose wheel and tire. The team, led by Crew Chief Larry Bowers, made quick work of the problem and made a chassis adjustment that eventually led to the victory.
“I haven’t had very good luck at this track, but tonight that all changed. We got lucky and caught that yellow at the same time Latham was going to put us a lap down. I knew if we could get the car in the pits we could fix the problem and salvage a good finish”, Minegar told the fans from victory lane.
Minegar, Dillon and Latham staged a 3 way battle for the win with 15 laps to go. Dillon drove his car into turn three with 4 laps to go with Minegar in his mirror when something broke on the former NW tour champion’s car allowing Minegar to cruise to victory.
Minegar and his team celebrated the victory with a little extra excitement as it is the last race before Minegar is to wed his fiancée Heidi. Dave Minegar and Heidi are to be married on June 14th in Boise.
“We have been so busy preparing for the wedding and getting these racecars ready, it has been a crazy summer”, said Minegar.
The victory is shared with Minegar Racing and all their partners; BodyBuilding.com, BSN, RedLine, MuscleTech, Lean Body by Labrada, A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning and Lennox.
