DAVE BYRD ORDERS UP A TRIPLE!

Dave Byrd is set to pull off the triple today. Dave will be racing in the 100 lap SRL Southwest Tour race at Altamont Raceway Park outside Tracy, California in a "Day" show and then make the hour and a half trip South to Madera Speedway in Madera, California to race in twin 75 lap Late Model mains events in an "evening" show.

The first leg of the day will start early with Practice at Altamont Raceway Park starting at 930am. Altamont's schedule for the day calls for the SRL Series to run before the other classes of cars with qualifying at 1pm and racing between 3pm and 4:30pm.

Barring any issues that would lengthen the Altamont race, Dave will have enough time to make the trip South. The first of two main events at Madera Speedway starts at 6:10pm. Of course this will then mean that Dave won't make it to Madera in time to qualify the car, but will be able to start both mains from the rear of the field. The second Late Model Main event is scheduled to start at 9:15pm.

"I look forward to the challenge of the extra racing", commented Dave. "I'm feeling fairly good about the SRL car, but the Late Model has recently had some work done to it and I'm a little apprehensive to jump in it with out testing it first. I'm hoping the Late Model crew can get the car hot lapped to make sure things aren't bound up! It might just make for some extra excitement on the evening," joked Byrd.

Although Dave has only ran a partial season at Madera Speedway, the Madera Twin 75's take on a special sugnifigance in that they are part of a series of special point fund races outside of the tracks normal points championship with Dave sitting squarely in the hunt for the "Bonus Awards".
