BLYTHE, CA -- Twenty-two Towel City Tire / Sunoco Fuel Pure Stocks showed up at the I-10 Speedway in Blythe CA to race for trophies, cash, points, and bragging rights. Brian Faulkner (2) earned a win in the main event and took home a Lucas Oil Product trophy and $750. Justin Good (25) finished second. Rick Layman (B52) and John Mattie (16) were disqualified because of high performance cams that were identified during tech inspections. At the end of the day, the points standing were shifted considerably. Justin Good moved up into the top spot with 334 points followed by Brian Faulkner with 320 points. Rick Layman dropped from first in points to a tie with Brian Faulkner for second. Jimmy Rouse (09) dropped from second to fourth in points with 310 and George Olmsted held on to fifth in over points at 294. The Towel City Tire / Sunoco Fuel Pure Stocks will run again in a non-points race on April 12 and will finish the season in the final points race on April 27. The battle for the top position is far from over with six drivers still in contention. The Towel City Tire / Sunoco Fuel Pure Stock finale on April 27 promises to be an exciting finish in a great season of racing for the Pure Stock Division.

Larry Gerchman (25) drove his modified car to his third win for the season in the Budweiser Modified 35-lap main event and took home another Lucas Oil Products trophy and $400 in winnings. Gerchman increased his lead in overall points to 426, which is now 8 points ahead of Jerry Snell (9), who has 418. Chris Weiss held onto his third place position in points with 396. The battle for overall points is far from over and will be settled on April 26, when the Budweiser Modifieds race in a 75-lap finale.

Rob Ferguson (2) started from the back of the lineup and drove his Allison Legacy car to a win in a 25-lap main event. He was followed by Chad Hines and John Gravelle.
