TRACY, California -- Thirty-four SRL Wild West Late Model Shootout drivers showed up for practice last night at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, California. The first race of the 2004 season will take place today on Altamonts fast half-mile race track.

Drivers from all over the west coast dialed in their race cars in preparation for this afternoons race. Todays race will be the first of 11 events on the 2004 schedule. Veterans Ken Boyd, Harry Belletto, and Dave Philpott, joined rookies Mike Mason, Steve Yatsko, Mark Smith, and Tyler McQuarrie on the race track. Former champions Jeff Anthony (2002) and Ron Strmiska Jr. (2003) were also in attendance. Qualifying is schedule to start at 5:00 PM.

5:00 PM - SRL Late Model Qualifying
6:00 PM - Opening Ceremonies
